This autonomous Institute funded by Ministry of Health and Family
 Welfare is
an apex technical Institute for promoting Health and Family Welfare
 Programs in thecountry through Education and Training, Research and Evaluation,
 Consultancy,Advisory and specialized services.
Applications are invited for the following posts:
On Regular Basis:
1. Lecturer (Statistics & Demography ):- One post (Reserved for SC)
Scale of pay – Rs.15600-39100 + AGP 6000
Age limit: Upto 35 years. (Relaxable upto 5 years for govt. servants and
employees of autonomous Institutes under Govt.)
Essential:
a. Good academic record with atleast 50% marks in Master’s degree in Statistics
or Demography or Mathematics with Statistics from a recognized University /
Institution.
b. A doctoral degree in any branch of Statistics / Demography / Mathematics
with Statistics from a recognized University / Institute.
Desirable:
Experience in the field of health and family welfare.
2. Lecturer (RBM-Clinic) : - One post (Reserved for OH & OBC)
Scale of pay – Rs.15600-39100+AGP 6000 + NPA
Age limit: Upto 35 years. (Relaxable upto 5 years for govt. servants and
employees of autonomous Institutes under Govt .)
Essential:
a. Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of
the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical
Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of
the third schedule should also fulfil the conditions stipulated in section 13(3)
of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
b. Post-graduate degree in Surg./ Med./ Obst. & Gynae or equivalent degree from
a recognized University / Institution.
c. Atleast 3 years teaching / training / research experience as Demonstrator /
Tutor / Registrar / Resident in the Medicine, Surgery Obst. / Gynae.
3. Reader (Reproductive Bio-Medicine): - One Post (UR)
Scale of pay – Rs. 15600-39100+AGP 8000 + NPA
Age limit: Upto 50 years (Relaxable upto 5 years for govt. servants and
employees of autonomous Institutes under Govt.)
Essential:
a. Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of
the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical
Council Act 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of
the third schedule should also fulfil the conditions stipulated in section 13(3)
of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
b. Postgraduate degree in Surg. / Med. / Obst. & Gynae. / such as MD / MS or an
equivalent degree of a recognized University / Institute.
c. Five years experience as Lecturer / Assistant Professor in the subject
concerned in a Medical College / Recognized Institution.
d. Evidence of published work of high quality during last 5 years
Desirable:
a. One year administrative experience in a responsible position.
On Deputation basis:
4. Professor (Planning & Evaluation) :- One post (On deputation)
Scale of pay – Rs.37400-67000+AGP10000+NPA
Age limit: Not exceeding 56 years
Period of deputation: One year in the first instance.
Eligibility:
Officers holding analogous posts or with 6 years service as Reader / Associate
Professor in the concerned subject in a Medical College or in an equivalent
grade in a research / training institution and fulfilling the qualifications as
below:
Essential:
a. Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II
of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian
Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications
included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfil the conditions
stipulated in section 13(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
b. Post-graduate degree such as MD (CHA)/ MD(PSM)/ MD(Commun ity
Medicine or equivalent degree of recognized University.
c. Evidence of published work of high quality during last 4 years.
Desirable:
a. Three years administrative experience in a responsible position.
5. Professor (Education & Training) - One post (On deputation)
Scale of pay – Rs.37400-67000+AGP10000+NPA
Age limit: Not exceeding 56 years
Period of deputation: One year in the first instance.
Eligibility:
Officers holding analogous posts or with 6 years service as Reader / Associate
Professor in the concerned subject in a Medical College or in an equivalent
grade in a research / training institution and fulfilling the other qualifications
as below:

(Community Medicine) or an equivalent degree of a recognized
University.
c. Evidence of published work of high quality during last 4 years.
Desirable:
a. Three years administrative experienc e in a responsible position.
b. Experience in training / planning and conducting epidemiological
studies / surveys.
6. Dy.Director (Admn.): One post
Scale of pay: Rs.15600-39100+7600 (GP)
Method of Recruitment: On deputation
Age limit: Not exceeding 56 years
By deputation of an officer with 3 years experience in Administration,
Budgeting, Financial and Personnel Management as Under Secretary of the
Central Govt. or equivalent post in scale of pay of Rs.10000 -15200 (prerevised)
in an Institution / Organization of repute.
7. Accounts Officer: By transfer on deputation -Two posts
Scale of pay: Rs.9300-34800+4600 (GP) )(Grade Pay of Rs.4600/- for the post
of Accounts Officer may be enhanced with the approval of Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare – which is under process
Age limit: Not exceeding 56 years
i. Transfer on deputation from SAS qualified officers with 10 years
service from Audit and Accounts Offices. (period of deputation shall
not ordinarily exceed 3 years)
On Contractual basis:
8. Lecturer (Sociology): One post (UR) (On contractual basis against leave
vacancy)
Scale of pay – Rs.15600-39100+AGP 6000
Age limit: Upto 35 years. (Relaxable upto 5 years for govt. servants and
employees of autonomous Institutes under Govt.)
Essential:
a. Good academic record with atleast 50% marks in Master’s degree in
Sociology from a recognized university / institute.
b. A doctoral degree in any branch of Sociology from a recognized
University / Institution.
Desirable:
Experience in the field of health and f amily welfare.
GENERAL
 Age limit as on 1.7.10. Relaxation admissible for SC / OBC / persons in
Govt. Service etc. as per Central Govt. Rules.
 Age relaxation for physically handicapped persons: 8 years for OBC.
 The minimum degree of disability in order for a person to be eligible for
any concessions / benefits would be 40%.
 Candidates working in Govt. / Semi Govt. Organizations must apply
through proper channel.
 Unfurnished accommodation may be provided subject to availability on
payment of prescribed rent.
 Mere fulfilling the essential qualifications does not entitle a candidate to
be called for interview.
 Late applications / incomplete applications / interim enquiries will not be
entertained.
 Canvassing in any form by or on behalf of any candidate wil l disqualify
the candidate.
 No correspondence will be entertained from the applicant either before
or after the selection. The decision of the Institute would be final.

 Pay and allowances have been adopted as per UGC guidelines as
amended time to time for faculty positions in the Institute.

Institute of Health and Family Welfare., New Delhi payable at New Delhi
(No fee for SC & Physically handicapped candidates) either personally or
by sending a request alongwith a self addressed envelope (9”x4”) duly
stamped for Rs.10/-.
2. Applications for Sr.No.6 and 7 may be sent through proper channel in the
proforma given in Annexure-I alongwith the complete and upto -date biodata
and attested copies of confidential reports (for last 5 years).

Form”. Downloaded applications must be accompa nied by the prescribed
fee as indicated above.
4. Completed applications alongwith photocopies of educational
qualifications, proof of belonging to OBC/Physical Handicapped and
experience certificates (attested copies of ACR for the last 5 years and
vigilance clearance for posts at Sr.No. 6 & 7) should reach to the
